We are currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Officer to support field operations in Lagos and Abuja.
Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of customer orders within an assigned market.
The role involves inspecting goods before dispatch, confirming that orders match customer requirements, identifying quality concerns, and working with vendors and field teams to resolve issues.
This is a hands-on field position that requires regular movement within busy market environments. The ideal candidate should be observant, reliable, organized, and comfortable working directly with vendors and other field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect customer orders to confirm that products are accurate, complete, fresh, and suitable for delivery.
- Check goods against order details before vendors dispatch them.
- Identify missing, damaged, incorrect, expired, or poor-quality products and report them promptly.
- Work with vendors to resolve order discrepancies and product quality concerns.
- Assist with onboarding new vendors and explain relevant quality and order requirements.
- Support customer acquisition and registration activities within the assigned market.
- Collect relevant field information and maintain accurate records of daily activities.
- Use photographs and other available data collection methods to document field activities when required.
- Prepare and submit daily quality and activity reports to the City Team Lead.
- Follow company procedures when handling orders, goods, and operational information.
- Maintain professional communication with vendors, customers, and field team members.
- Represent the company responsibly while working in assigned markets.
- Consumer Sign-Up Responsibilities:
- As part of the field operations function, the successful candidate will also participate in customer acquisition activities within the assigned market.
- Expected targets include:
- Daily target: 10 customer sign-ups
- Weekly target: 50 customer sign-ups
- Monthly target: 200 customer sign-ups
Requirements
- Minimum of an HND in Food Science, Agribusiness, Nutrition, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- One to two years of experience in food quality, logistics, retail, market operations, supply chain, or a similar field is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship, NYSC, market, logistics, or practical field experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of food freshness, spoilage, grading, and quality inspection is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify quality problems quickly.
- Good understanding of fresh produce and basic food quality standards.
- Ability to use a smartphone for communication, photography, data collection, and reporting.
- Good communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of honesty, reliability, and responsibility when handling goods and customer orders.
- Ability to work independently and follow established operational procedures.
- Comfortable standing and working for extended periods in busy market environments.
- Fluency in the local market language is strongly preferred.
